EMPLOYMENT & ENTERPRISE SERVICES

Our Core Initiatives

Empowering change for a brighter tomorrow

Employment & Enterprise

We don't just find employment – we create it. Our social enterprises provide real jobs with living wages and genuine career progression for disabled and care-experienced people. NOLS Taxis offers accessible transport while training disabled drivers and support workers who can assist with appointments and note-taking. Our Launchpad Café becomes a hospitality training ground where staff progress from trainee to supervisor to management. Through our Microbusiness Accelerator, we help you launch your own enterprise with 12 weeks of intensive support, mentoring, and ongoing guidance. These aren't placements or work experience – they're sustainable careers within our growing network of businesses across Liverpool and beyond.

Education & Learning

Education should work with your brain, not against it. Our specialist tutors understand ADHD, dyslexia, and disrupted education, providing GCSE support that actually helps rather than highlights deficits. We navigate the complex SEND system alongside families, attending meetings, translating jargon, and ensuring appropriate support. Our Creative Coding programme makes tech careers accessible to excluded communities, while Launchpad Lectures brings world-class expertise on AI, business, and social justice directly to Liverpool – free, accessible, and recorded for those who can't attend. Whether you're catching up on missed education or advancing your skills, we provide pathways that work for you.

Children & Families

Families facing disability and difference need wraparound support, not isolated services. Our free Soft Play & Sensory Centre welcomes disabled children with specialized equipment and understanding staff – no premium charges, no judgment about meltdowns. When you're navigating assessments and diagnoses, we translate medical jargon, explain your rights, and connect you to support. Our Outreach team brings services directly to isolated families, helping with forms, applications, and connections that feel impossible to make alone. From pregnancy through to adult independence, we support the whole family journey because we know that when one person struggles, everyone needs support.

Media & Digital

Your story deserves to be heard and you deserve to be safe online. Launchpad Magazine amplifies marginalised voices to 2.1 million readers, paying contributors properly for articles mainstream media won't publish. Our Print & Design Lab democratizes publishing, helping communities create their own magazines, marketing materials, and campaigns. Meanwhile, our AI & Digital Safety Lab protects vulnerable people from the £2.3bn lost annually to online fraud, teaching scam detection, safe AI use, and digital confidence. We believe in empowerment through technology and storytelling – giving you both the platform to speak and the protection to engage safely in our digital world.

Launchpad Digital Labs

  • Real change requires challenging power, not requesting permission. Harin Ellis Disability Rights, led by lived experience, researches discrimination, publishes evidence, and influences policy at local and national levels. Our Launchpad Futures Law programme provides free guidance on disability rights, education law, and housing, helping you understand and assert your rights without needing expensive lawyers. Through our Awards & Lobbying work, we celebrate employers genuinely creating inclusion while exposing discrimination and holding local government, NHS, and MPs accountable. We don't just document problems – we demand solutions, using research, media, and collective action to reshape what's possible.

Care Futures

Care shouldn't end at 18, 21, or ever. Our dedicated Launchpad Care Futures programme provides what the system doesn't consistently offer, long-term support that recognises your journey. Personal navigators offer weekly check-ins, crisis support, and practical help with everything from benefits to birthdays. You get guaranteed interviews at all our enterprises, priority access to every service, and support that understands disrupted backgrounds aren't your fault. Our peer mentors have lived your experience and now thrive – proof that your past doesn't define your future. Across all 17 services, care leavers receive free access, extra support, and the family-style belonging you deserved but didn't get. Your support continues as long as you need it because real families don't have age limits.
